The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to preserve the integrity of tennis in Royal King’s Park Tennis Club (RKPTC) and to promote sportsmanship at all times. Should you have any concerns with any aspect of the Club or the members, please raise them with a current Committee member.
Player Code of Conduct
As a player, you should:
Participate for your own enjoyment and personal development;
Applaud all good play, regardless of the team/club affiliation;
Be respectful and courteous to everyone;
Be fair, considerate and honest in your interactions;
Be cooperative with your teammates and opponents;
Abide by the rules;
Respect the decisions of the umpire, match referee and/or other adjudicators; as well as
Be respectful in the use of facilities and equipment provided.
Parents and Spectators Code of Conduct
As a parent or spectator, you should:
Encourage participation of the sport for enjoyment and personal development;
Emphasise positive feedback;
Suggest improvements of players’ weaknesses in a calm and supportive way;
Be a positive role model;
Applaud good performance and efforts from all individuals and teams;
Congratulate all players, regardless of the match results;
Respect officials’ decisions;
Raise questions about match decisions in a calm manner;
Appreciate the efforts of volunteer team managers, officials and administrators; and
Be respectful to everyone.
Penalty
Where the RKPTC Committee determines a breach of the Code of Conduct, the committee may impose a warning, suspension or expulsion from the club, depending on the severity of the breach. The decision of the committee will be final and binding on all parties.
