Upcoming Events
We have three scheduled events to take us through the winter months before our October festivities begin:
July 4–5: Wimbledon Whites Social Tennis Weekend. Wear your whites to social tennis.
August 30: Hard Court Tournament, with food and a social gathering to follow.
September 20: Our second annual inter-club friendly at East Fremantle (pending final confirmation).
Moving into October, we are updating our event structure this year:
October 10–11: Club Championships weekend (dependent on grass court readiness).
Sunday, October 17: Opening Day. This will be open to the public with a "lawn party" theme, featuring strawberries and cream.
Saturday, October 31: Club Champs Celebration. Immediately following Saturday social tennis, we invite family and friends to join us for a Halloween-themed gathering. Come as you are, or wear a costume. Food will be provided, drinks are pay-as-you-go. We are arranging for face painting and adding in some spooky surprises.
Singapore Social & Bangkok Ball: Extended Itinerary!
Get ready to pack your bags a little earlier! We are officially extending the upcoming Singapore Social and Bangkok Ball trip. Our new departure is set for Friday 19 February, with official activities kicking off on Saturday 20 February.
This extra time means Singapore Cricket Club (SGC) may look to run a formal CTC event and a regional gathering. With 2027 marking the SGC’s 175th anniversary, this will be incredibly fun to celebrate at one of our premier Reciprocal Clubs.
We completely understand that the first weekend in Singapore overlaps with our local league play, so some of you may not be able to make that leg of the trip. However, the second weekend in Bangkok falls over the long weekend, meaning absolutely no league play conflicts. Pick your poison and meet us when you can for a rocking good time!
The Updated Itinerary:
Friday 19 Feb: Depart Perth for Singapore.
Saturday 20 Feb – Wednesday 24 Feb: Tennis and social activities at the Singapore Cricket Club and the Tanglin Club, plus a visit to 67 Pall Mall.
Thursday 25 Feb: Travel to Bangkok.
Friday 26 Feb – Sunday 28 Feb: Tennis and golf as guests of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club.
Monday 1 March: Travel back to Perth.
Introducing our new Digital Suggestion Box
As part of the Committee’s ongoing commitment to open communication and proactive engagement, we are pleased to introduce a new tool designed to ensure everyone has an opportunity to be heard. We have launched a Digital Suggestion Box, which you can access right now using this link: https://forms.gle/m75sbDnKm7GFu5Q3A
This form is structured around our key operational areas—from social tennis and facilities to junior development and public access—making it easier for the Committee to review, categorize, and act on your ideas.
Here are a few brief details on how it works:
Absolute Anonymity: The form is configured by default to be completely anonymous. We want to hear your candid, constructive feedback.
Optional Follow-up: If you are proposing a specific project or solution and would like a direct response from the Committee, use the optional field at the bottom to leave your name and email.
Operational Rules: If your feedback relates specifically to upcoming leagues, pennant, or weekly match-play schedules, please continue to email those directly to our Captain, Beth Meertens, at admin@rkptc.com.au.
Thank you for your continued dedication to our community and culture - we are what we create.
Where did our Past Presidents go?
Fear not, everyone! Our past presidents haven't vanished into thin air. They are currently resting safely in the storage area of the Members Pavilion, but they won’t be hiding in the dark for too long.
By Opening Day, they will be settled in a place of honor—right after we figure out where.
The past presidents were temporarily placed in storage while the wall that they were on was refreshed and reimagined with RKPTC heritage as the continued focus. However, the last we heard about this from NextGen was last year despite our frequently asking what the plan is.
Stay tuned for more details, and get ready to honor our history in style!
Share the RKPTC Spirit—Invite Your Friends to Our Club Newsletter!
As we cross the centenary milestone of our Members Pavilion this season, we are constantly reminded of the deep history, culture, and vibrant community that make the Royal King’s Park Tennis Club (RKPTC) so special. To continue this legacy, we need to give our surrounding community a genuine window into our unique culture. And what does that mean specifically? Share our newsletter with others!
We would love for you to help us grow our extended family by sharing the link below to your friends, family, or neighbours who might want to see what is going around the Club:

Why Stay Connected?
Signing up for the newsletter does not make someone a member, nor does it grant playing rights on any of our courts. However, it is the perfect space for:
Prospective Members: Anyone who wants to be a part of our community, try things out, or see if they might be tempted to join us in the future.
Former Residents & Alumni: People who may have moved away from Perth but still want to keep the RKPTC spirit alive and stay connected to our history.
Local Neighbours: Community members interested in our upcoming social gatherings and cultural events.
What Existing Members Need to Know
Please rest assured that this initiative brings absolutely no change to our existing members or your current membership structures. Neighbours and friends who sign up will simply be added to our system as "newsletter-only." They can also easily opt-out at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any update.
