Calling All Set Makers

Opening Day is fast approaching, and we are anticipating a massive turnout! We will need multiple set makers to keep the day running smoothly, and every helping hand truly counts. 2027 Masters World Championships

In alignment with our strategic pillar to Reclaim the Tournament Calendar, I am excited to announce that RKPTC will be one of the host venues for the 2027 Masters World Championships for the 55, 60, 65 and 70 World Team and Individual Championships, taking place in Perth from April 25 to May 8, 2027.

While hosting an international event is a fantastic milestone for the Club, our commitment to Strengthen Social Tennis always comes first. To ensure that our community can continue to enjoy their regular games without disruption, we have reserved select grass courts throughout the event. This guarantees that social tennis and member access remain fully protected.

Backing Our Women’s High-Performance Teams for 2026/2027!

It has been incredible to see the energy on the courts as we gear up for the new season. Your passion for the game and our community is what makes RKPTC so special, and I’m thrilled to share some fantastic news about our top-tier competitors.

As part of the Committee's strategic pillar to Redefine Sponsorship, we have successfully transitioned our high-performance teams to a model that is fully covered by sponsorship funds. Because of the incredible generosity of the sponsors we have already welcomed on board, we have officially registered both our men's and women's high-performance teams for the upcoming 2026-2027 season! We are so grateful to everyone who has already stepped up to make this a reality.

Strengthening Social Tennis: Planning for Summer

In these winter months, the Committee is working hard to plan an epic grass court season. We are looking at new ways to expand access and increase the pathways to play grass court tennis. We have updated our seasonal calendar here: https://www.rkptc.com.au/calendar.

  • Friday Arvo Grass Group: Debuting this season, we are introducing 1 to 2 hour sessions led by our coaches. This is perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a refresh to help you feel confident playing on the grass.

  • Summer Arvo Intra Club Competition: Get ready for something new this summer! We're excited to launch our own Summer Arvo Intra Club Competition on grass. Designed as a fun and friendly competition, it's the perfect opportunity to enjoy some great tennis without the pressures of League competition. Whether you're looking for regular match play, a bit of healthy competition, or simply a great afternoon at the club, we'd love to have you involved. An Expression of Interest will be available soon, so keep an eye out.

  • Club Championships – 10 & 11 October ($15) Whether you're a seasoned competitor or entering for the very first time, we encourage players of all standards to get involved. Club Championships are about more than just winning – they're about enjoying great tennis, challenging yourself and celebrating our wonderful club. It's the perfect way to kick off the summer tennis season before our official Opening Day on Sunday, 18 October. 2027 Feb Asia Tour

The 2027 Asia Tour itinerary is shaping up nicely! Members, non-members, tennis players, spectators, family, and friends are all invited to join us.

Managing Facilities, Finances & Risk: NextGen Negotiations

Our proposal for a lower-priced Racquet Only tennis membership is currently under consideration by NextGen. We expect a decision shortly. Current Racquet Only members should look out for a renewal offer in the mail from NextGen soon—please ensure your physical mailing address is up to date with them.

Juniors and families!

In addition to Hot Shots, Jake is committed to hosting 2 dedicated kids' tournaments this upcoming season. The Committee has also allocated up to $2,000 to make family-friendly enhancements, like games and bean bags. Email us what you would like to see and we will try our best!

Where did our Past Presidents go?

Fear not, everyone! Our past presidents haven't vanished into thin air. They are currently resting safely in the storage area of the Members Pavilion, but they won’t be hiding in the dark for too long.

By Opening Day, they will be settled in a place of honor—right after we figure out where.

The past presidents were temporarily placed in storage while the wall that they were on was refreshed and reimagined with RKPTC heritage as the continued focus.  However, the last we heard about this from NextGen was last year despite our frequently asking what the plan is.
