Special Olympic Games

  • Royal Kings Park Tennis Club 21 Kings Park Road Kings Park, WA, 6005 Australia (map)

Special Olympics Australia is part of a global inclusion movement using sports, health, education, and leadership programs every day around the world to end discrimination against and empower people with intellectual disabilities. Their volunteers create accessible sports training, coaching, and competition opportunities which are offered week-in and week-out in local communities throughout Australia. The funds raised will target tennis athletes for inclusion in the 2027 world games and to bring awareness to intellectual disabilities in Western Australia. The Governor’s Charity Tennis Day Event was organised by Royal Kings Park Tennis Club, Next Generation Clubs Kings Park together with Special Olympics Australia, with support and participation by our sponsors, and was media covered event. As Royal Kings Park Tennis Club and Next Generation Clubs we not only supported this event with the use of our facilities, catering and organisation team for the event, we are also want to develop the participation of people with intellectual disabilities in playing tennis through our accredited coaches and programs, and hopefully, we will have some Western Australian tennis athletes represent Australia at the games.
